Beijing International Marathon
A good time of the year to run when the weather is pleasant, the annual Beijing Marathon attracts over 30,000 competitors from all over the world. The marathon was first held in 1981 and has been a popular annual event ever since. The race is recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and as such, participants receive official IAAF scores from the race.
This year, the annual ANA Beijing International Marathon will be held on October 19, 2008. The ANA Beijing International Marathon is organized by the Chinese Athletic Association (CAA) and is one of the country’s most prominent marathon events drawing participants from all over the country as well as around the world. This year’s race disciplines include: the full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.0975 km), 8K, and mini marathon (4.2 km).
The ANA Beijing International Marathon welcomes participants from all over the world to come and experience Beijing.


Beijing was elected the Host City for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008.
