Setting foot in the Miu Fat Monastery, it is easy to see that Buddhism is alive and active in modern Hong Kong society. The entrance is guarded day and night by dutiful stone lions and elephants, but have no fear: access to the monastery and its vegetarian restaurant on the first floor is easily accomplished during business hours.
